Have you ever watched an eagle soar high above the earth, gliding effortlessly on the wind? There’s something majestic about this bird—something that speaks of strength, vision, and dominion. As Christians, we are called to be like eagles, not mere sparrows fluttering about, but soaring high in the Spirit, ruling and reigning as God intended.

The Way of the Eagle

Proverbs 30:18-19 speaks of the mystery of “the way of an eagle in the air.” Eagles don’t struggle against the wind; they use it to lift them higher. In the same way, strong Christians don’t resist the challenges of life; they rise above them, knowing that trials are stepping stones to greater heights

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

In Deuteronomy 32:11 God compares Himself to an eagle that stirs up its nest, teaching its young to fly. He doesn’t want us to stay comfortable—He pushes us to grow, to trust Him. Eagles train their young by removing the soft nest lining, forcing them to develop strength. Likewise, God shapes our character through life’s challenges, ensuring that we learn to soar.

And where does the eagle find its strength? The rock. The eagle rests on the rock, sharpens its beak against it, and finds refuge there. This rock represents God’s Word. When we cling to His promises, we are strengthened, sharpened, and secure.

An eagle doesn’t fight the serpent on the ground—it carries it to the heights, where the snake is powerless. In the same way, we overcome the enemy not by fighting in the flesh but by taking our battles to the spiritual realm. In 1 Samuel 17 David understood this when he faced Goliath, declaring, “I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty” (1 Samuel 17:45). Victory is found in the presence and power of God.

Eagles have incredible vision, seeing details from great distances. Strong Christians are not distracted by the temporary; they focus on eternity (2 Corinthians 4:18). We don’t live for what is seen but for the unseen, keeping our eyes fixed on Christ.

Are you an eagle Christian? Are you rising above circumstances, resting on the Rock, defeating the enemy, and keeping your vision on the things of God? It’s time to spread your wings, embrace God’s calling, and soar!

Let’s not live like chickens pecking at the ground when we were made to rule the skies. Rise up, for you are made for heaven!
